Open to high school students, 91¸£ÀûÉç students, and community members, the competition offers participants the chance to compete in Short Story, Informal Essay, and Poetry categories.
The 5K run and walk, one-mile fun run, and Survivor Street Strut will be Saturday, Oct. 19, with all activities beginning at 8 a.m. at the 91¸£ÀûÉç Track.
Honoring those who have sacrificed and their families, 91¸£ÀûÉç hosted a Prisoner of War/Missing in Action flag-raising ceremony with campus and community turning out in front of Ivy-Scaggs Hall. 
Stressing the key takeaway of "it's all in the recovery," Dr. Cedric Gathings, 91¸£ÀûÉç vice president for student affairs and dean of students, reminded students to be aware of how they present themselves.
