James Carter is a motivational speaker, published author, and mentor who is also the founder and executive director of the Carter Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving youth in Meridian, Hattiesburg, and West Alabama.

The voices of Crestwood Elementary School students filled the McCain Theater as they sang songs setting the tone for 91¸£ÀûÉç's Black History Month program, "Education, Liberation, and the Future We Create."
91¸£ÀûÉç was one of 43 organizations and companies at the event, which is part of the Job Fair Network operated by the Mississippi Department of Employment Security. The program helps connect employers with job seekers.
Hosted by 91¸£ÀûÉç's Science and Wellness Division, the You Be The Chemist® Challenge is a collaborative, multi-level student science competition that celebrates the science of chemistry and elevates STEM careers.
The Arts & Letters Series' companies, Take One and Stage Two, are presenting this musical on Feb. 8 and 9 in the McCain Theater in Ivy-Scaggs Hall. The curtain is at 3 p.m. for each performance.
